R4i Gold VS R4i Gold V2.0

Many people has been asking us :“what’s the difference between R4i Gold(r4ids.cn) and R4i Gold V2.0”? This Review attempt to answer some of those questions.

r4ids.cn is selling R4i Gold 3DS Card (in place of r4i gold v1.4.1) supporting the DSi | DSi XL V1.4.2 and Nintendo 3DS . While r4ids.com is selling the R4i Gold v2.0 supporting the DSi | DSi XL v1.4.1 and Nintendo 3DS .

Both of R4i Gold comes with a Gold coloring scheme .Here , I will make a comparation of the two cards by charts and pictures for a better and impressive explaination .

Hardware

From the below pictures, the R4i Gold has the same shape as the R4i Gold V2.0 , Both of cards have two indentations (one on either side) near the top, presumably for better gripping with your fingers.

Compare the three card’s sticker ,we can find 3 major differnce :

1. The office website is different . R4i gold V 2.0 card from r4ids.com while, other two from r4ids.cn.

2. The r4i gold v2.0 sticker marked with "V2.0" . the r4i gold 3ds ‘s sticked marked with "3DS"

3. From the following Card’s name ,we could see:

R4i gold V1.4.1 support: DSI /DSI XL /DSL /NDS
R4i gold V 2.0 support: DSI LL/XL DSL
R4i gold 3DS support: N3DS/NDSi XL/NDSI/NDSL/NDS

Going to the back, there's a few things to point out.

First is the MicroSD slot, All positioned to the right. This slot is not spring-loaded, relying on friction to keep the MicroSD in place.

The second point is the contact area ,All have the metal connecting finger on the bottom , which are meant to guide the contacts into place when the flash cart is inserted into the DS, but are also meant to keep fingers from directly touching the contacts, dirtying them.

The third point is the different point : the r4i gold V 2.0 prints“ R4i” on the bottom left . other two card have a small white number 6 is visible on the PCB, in the uppermost portion of the right contact slot.

PCB Panel Compare

The color of their PCB Board is different. R4i gold V 2.0 is dark blue, and other two is red.

On the fron of PCB Board , Obviously, we can see :The front PCB Panel of r4i gold v2.0’s isn’t unsmooth . There is a black integration body on it .On the other sides,the other cards’ front of pcb is almost smooth ,except 8 pieces of metal connecting finger on the bottom right

On the back of PCB Board , we know ,r4ids.cn and r4ids.com used the totally different chip :R4i Gold V2.0 used “EON” chip , the others used “Actel “ Chip which is successor from original R4i Gold Team which is successor from original R4i Gold Team .
